Covid-19 Coronavirus – LHYC Guidelines Updated – 22nd December 2020
On the 20th December the majority of the South East of England was moved into the new Tier 4 restrictions. The governments guidance states “People can also exercise outdoors or visit some public outdoor places, such as parks, the countryside accessible to the public, public gardens or outdoor sports facilities. You can continue to do unlimited exercise alone, or in a public outdoor place with your household, support bubble, or with one other person if you maintain social distancing.” The club is classified as a sports facility, so there is no reason why members shouldn’t visit the club for exercise. For those still afloat you may use your boat, as long as you follow the rules regarding mixing with other households.
The club hut will remain closed. Members of the club should acquaint themselves with what is and isn’t allowed from your own area and the club which is in Tier 4, see here. Particular consideration should be made as to whether you can justify traveling to the club. The RYA produced a list of FAQ’s on how they interpret the current rules.
The club website has been updated with a new section linking to various Covid-19 guidance and information documents Covid-19 Information.
