Club Electricity Usage – updated

We have seen an increase in electricity usage over recent months, including during the lockdown period. Whilst members are permitted to use the electricity for charging boat batteries, power tools and a limited amount of heating whilst working on their boats, please use this facility frugally.

Please note. Boats must not be left plugged in, unattended.

It has been reported that a number of boats have been left plugged in and unattended. Whilst using additional club electricity, this also increases the risk of fire. Any boats left plugged in and unattended will be unplugged. Repeat offenders will be called to explain their actions to the committee.

We don’t want to go down the route of metered supplies, but if the current high usage continues, that may be our only option. It isn’t fair that all members share the cost of a few high energy users.

Thanks

The Committee
