2. ENGLAND – East Coast – Depths. – Unusually one increase of depth on the edge of the River Thames Channel just south of the Ovens SHB in the Lower Hope.
3. ENGLAND – East Coast – Buoy. – A move to the south-east for the Wells West Cardinal ‘approach’ buoy. This was notified two weeks again by the Port of Wells Harbour Master. Image included on the usual page.
1. River Thames – HALFWAY REACH – AMEY’S (No.4) JETTY CONVEYOR INSTALLATION – On or about 29th June 2020 contractors working on behalf of Hanson Aggregates will begin installation works for a new conveyor from the lower end of the jetty, which are anticipated to take approximately three weeks. The chartlet on the list depicts the location of the works. The works will be undertaken in a number of stages using the spud leg crane barge GPS BOXER with other craft in attendance. During the works, the existing walkway will be removed, followed by the installation of a new pile. New steelwork will be installed on top of the existing piles and finally the new conveyor system, hoppers and walkways will be installed. London VTS will broadcast requests for vessels to “proceed with caution” or “proceed at slow speed”, as described in Permanent Notices to Mariners 4 of 2014 as required by the works. International Code Flags “Romeo Yankee” will be displayed when this is in effect. Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14 as required.
2. River Thames – UNAUTHORISED USE OF PLA MOORINGS – The PLA provides a number of moorings for river users either on a short-term temporary arrangement or long-term agreement. Unauthorised use of any PLA mooring not only causes an inconvenience to those who have permission to moor but may present a danger to other river users, impede safe navigation and prevent the PLA from undertaking essential maintenance. Use of a PLA mooring is by prior permission only and all enquiries should be directed in the first instance to the PLA Marine Services Department either by phone 01474 562421 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Out of hours, short notice enquiries can be made through London VTS via the Duty Officer at TBNC on 0203 2607711 (VHF ) or the Duty Port Controller at Gravesend on 01474 562215 (VHF or 69). Availability and charges vary depending on length of stay, location, size or number of vessel(s) etc. With effect from 1 July 2020, the PLA is introducing a minimum charge of £500 per vessel (Ouch ), per occurrence for the unauthorised use of a PLA mooring.Please be advised that the PLA also has the right to remove any such vesseland recover all associated costs of doing so from the owner of that vessel.

4. Harwich Harbour – Maintenance Dredging • From the 11th June 2020 the plough dredger Baloe (length overall 23.35m) will start plough dredging within the Haven for approximately 14 days. • From the 11th June 2020 the survey vessel Libertas will start survey operations within the Haven for approximately 14 days. • From the 14th June 2020 the trailer suction dredger Alexander Von Humboldt (length overall 120.30m) will be undertaking maintenance dredging in the Haven and approaches for approximately 11 days. Detailed dredger movements can be obtained from Harwich VTS on VHF 71.
5. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: REVISIONS TO THE USAGE OF THE MOORING FACILITIES ON HA’PENNY PIER TO MANAGE THE SPREAD OF THE COVID-19 VIRUS – To manage the current Covid-19 virus outbreak we have revised the mooring usage on the Ha’penny Pier pontoons. With immediate effect, and until further notice, leisure-type vessels are not permitted to berth on the Ha’penny pontoon facilities. This action has been taken to protect our employees and aligns to current Government guidance to stay at home if revised usage notice does not apply to registered fishermen who can continue to use the can be contacted on email@example.comNotice to Mariners No. 13 of 2020 is rescinded.
6. APPROACHES TO SHEERNESS – GRAIN EDGE BUOY – CONSULTATION ON CHANGES TO AID TO NAVIGATION – Peel Ports London Medway is exploring the feasibility of altering the Grain Edge Unlit Buoy to a LitEast Cardinal Lightbuoy (exact light characteristic TBC). Aid: N05368 Type, Character: Unlighted Buoy, Conical, G. Position Latitude : 51° 27‘.620 N Longitude: 000° 45‘.466 E Datum: WGS84 Location: Sheerness Middle Sand. The above-mentioned proposal will be subject to a consultation period that will run until 8thJuly 2020. Comments and queries should be sent to:firstname.lastname@example.org. Following the consultation period all comments received will be assessed, the Port of Sheerness (as the Local Lighthouse Authority) will make it’s decision and any proposed change will be promulgated by a further Notice to Mariners. 7. Ipswich – Information Relating to Harbour Use During Easing of COVID-19 Restrictions – Mariners and Port Users are advised that ABP Ipswich has been working with the Government, other harbours regionally and national associations, to allow a phased return to the water without increasing risk to public health and placing extra burden on our emergency services, including Coastguard Rescue Teams and RNLI. Subject to ongoing clarification, which is being sought from the Government, the harbour is maintaining its statutory open port policy by continuing to facilitate use of the harbour by commercial and now leisure vessels that comply within the COVID-19 restrictions. For leisure vessels at yacht clubs and marinas, please check with your mooring provider before leaving home for access restrictions. If you are planning to use your craft in Harbour areas or at sea, please make extra effort to ensure that all maintenance and pre-season checks are completed. Please don’t put additional strain on our emergency services by risking a coastguard response or lifeboat call-out.Please ensure that government guidelines relating to social distancing are followed when accessing craft and when afloat. Mariners should be aware that the Police have issued fines to individuals not adhering to the law on social distancing or public gatherings. 8. RAMSGATE MARINA – OUTER WEST MARINA PONTOON – the lower green light, seaward end of the pontoon, is now lit.
9. RAMSGATE ROYAL HARBOUR – PORT CONTROL SIGNAL LIGHTS Mariners are advised that the Ramsgate Port Control Signal Lights are currently unreliable. Mariners are requested to seek advice from Port Control on before entering or departing the Royal Harbour.
10. WINTERSTOKE OUTFALL MARKER – (Charted Position – 51.20.03.4N – 001.26.03.0E) – Mariners are advised that the above navigational buoy is now lit and the missing day mark replaced.
