PS Waverley’s boiler refit appeal

We have received the email below about the PS Waverley. It would be a shame if she never sailed again.

My name is Jo Escott and I’m emailing you because I’m supporting PS Waverley’s boiler refit appeal. You may have seen PS Waverley when she’s sailing down your way every Autumn but sadly she won’t be this year. The Waverley’s been withdrawn from service and urgently needs two new boilers or she’ll never sail again. This iconic paddle steamer was built on the Clyde in 1946 and is the last sea-going paddle steamer in the world. We can not lose her. PS Waverley is a unique piece of British maritime heritage and is listed as a vessel of pre-eminent national importance in The National Historic Ships Register. It’s imperative this old steam ship gets back in steam and sails her passengers on the Thames and around the British coast in 2020. She must continue to provide education and enjoyment to future generations.

Thank you for reading this email. Anything you could do to raise awareness of PS Waverley and her plight would be very much appreciated. Please find attached an appeal flyer. If I can post you some of these flyers to display around your Yacht Club please let me know.

Thank you,
