Anchor hazard Stangate Creek – Short Reach – Updated

print
We have received the following information from some visitors from Benfleet YC that visited over the weekend to attend the Three Tuns beer festival. Something to be aware of and maybe a challenge for someone....

We picked up a chain on our anchor at top of Stangate round corner in Bomb bay, approx centre of creek , managed to retrieve our anchor after a struggle plus someones lost anchor & chain.
So we got a 15kg bruce but had to leave a long length of 10mm galv chain, suspect it may have been caught on something. Broke my heart having to let it go!

I buoyed the end of the chain with an old white fender & it was afloat at half ebb, If one of your lot fancy lifting it!

Additional info: the marker float is submerged at high tide and is in position,
